I can't believe just how quickly the time has flown since I reported for Yahoo at London Fashion Week, It was probably one of the best experiences I've ever had! And I wouldn't of even got to have it without the help of all you lovely people who spared the time to vote for me, a special thank you to those who took the time to retweet and help me by spreading the word to vote - You total stars! I know I know, I was a pain in the bum and constantly campaigned but hey? It was so worth it!

Let me just start by saying sorry for the Low quality photos, I didn't have any hands free to carry my camera  or the time to take any good photos unfortunately*Sighhhh*

LFW SS 15 - Presenting for Yahoo Lifestyle

The Friday

The weekend started in a totally hectic way with myself lugging a huge - may I add also totally unnecessarily large - suitcase around the busy underground stations of London, Special thanks to the man on the tube who literally barged people and cleared the way for me to escape the tube with my massive case, you sir deserve 20 brownie points for being hero of the hour.  I felt like some kind of urban queen with a rather disgruntled middle aged man as my sidekick as left the tube, on lookers just glared on and grunted as I tried to lift up the handle of my case and shuffle off - I manged to drag myself off and gave the man a kind of weird thank you hand gesture, for some reason I thought I was in a car and just lifted up my hand to him, thankfully I think he got the message.
I then went to meet the other blogger who won the Beauty category - The lovely Zoe Dubbs from Face Value Blog  she was also sporting an abnormally large suitcase, lets bare in mind that we where staying for two days.. yet we both decided it was essential that we pack a case the equivalent to our own body weight, but hey it 'Fasshunnnn week darling' we needed outfit options!
Both battered and bruised from our journey we decided to head straight to the hotel and just chill by the bar (In Latin terms this means dump our stuff and get drunk) until the babes from Yahoo Sophia and Natasha arrived to check us in.
Once they arrived we darted quickly to our rooms, I did the typical 'Omg huge bed, I must release
my inner child and jump all over it' routine, sorted myself out and dashed straight back out to meet the other guys for dinner.
We headed out to Brasserie Max which is situated in the bustling convent garden area to refuel, also seeing as we where all going to be with each other non-stop for weekend it was a good chance to get to know one another.

The Saturday

To tell the truth I awoke Saturday morning with a belly full of butterflies, my confidence that I tried to build up had suddenly vanished as I sat with the stark realization that I was going to be interviewing people. Something I had never done before but i just kept telling me self 'Hey what would Beyonce do?' as I got ready.
I had ventured over to the Motel Rocks headquarters a week before hand to pick out a few bits to wear for the weekend, for the first day I wore a Pink Co Ord with a white shirt and metallic brogues. Ill tell you a funny story from my trip there, I genuinely got lost in their basement for a good 5/10 minutes - I could have sworn that the place turned into a labyrinth I was opening up all sorts of different cupboard doors think that they where the exits! I was way too engulfed with all the clothes I saw and completely forgot where I was going.
Once I was ready I headed to Zoe's room where she was filming her makeover with Sascha Jackson, The leading makeup artist for Stila Cosmetics. I sat and oogled and her flawless makeover and stared in the mirror and started to regret my choice in highly 'smudgeworthy' Yes i made that word up Lipstick. But convinced it would do we set out to start filming.
My first point of call was the Jasper Conran Show, his show was slightly hit and miss with me, whilst I appreciated his luxe sportswear (Especially the bomber jackets) and simply shaped garments his 70's inspired colour palate and what I can only describe as 'The wallpaper you find hidden behind the wardrobe' print wasn't really doing it for me.

After this I quickly made my way over to the Royal Opera house to watch the Julien Macdonald show, The scenery was absolutely beautiful, it was all open and airy with a giant glass window adjacent to the runway.

Uhh the photographers pit, if that doesn't scream anxiety attack what does?

The show its self was well.. In my opinion a little too much of everything. You had ruffles, diamonds (One dress was embellished with 4 Million pounds worth of them!) hot pants, art deco prints, sheer panneling, wedding dressings and lace all with a muted colour scheme with a dash of hot pink thrown in. Individually some of the dresses where beautiful but together it was a little nauseating, maybe with a few lesser embellished items thrown in the collection would of felt like it came together, but as a whole it felt like a Mermaid had one to many on a hen doo and decided to run away to Las Vegas and have a wedding of her own.

After the show was over we headed back to the cobbles of Sommerset house to do some streetstyle interviews (Something I absolutely adored doing) whilst waiting for the Holly Fulton show.
I met some fellow blogger babes at somerset house including the lovely Laura from That's so Yesterday. Unfortunaly I didn't get a chance to interview everyone as I had to quickly dash to the show.

Holly Fulton the 'Queen of prints' her catwalk has to be my favorite show at LFW - Her show was an ode to all things folk, the use of bold prints mixed with simple silhouettes screamed out to me. Intricate hand crafting was clear to be seen throughout the garments with ribbons hand woven through out. Honestly I could do a whole post on her collection - Did I mention she also had the models in cateye sunglasses? A girl after my own heart.

After the Holly Fulton show I was off to interview Maddy who runs one of my favorite accessory brands Moxham. Ive been lusting after the Anubis necklace for a good few years now c'mon Santa! Interviewing her was a huge deal for me, I've followed her progress since she started out, she has managed to achieve so much in such a little time she truly is an inspiration. Luckily she was incredibly lovely and had lots to say.

My trusty microphone!

I could have sworn I had a vaster vocabulary but I clearly appear to have left it at home that weekend with 'Love' becoming my catchphrase - Maybe I should get a t-shirt made?

You can find all the details to my outfit on my LFW OOTD post  here
So what do you think? Day 2 will be up tomorrow
