I couldn't talk about my favourite makeup products of 2014 without posting my favourite skincare.  2014 was the year I finally upped my game with skincare, I went from using wet wipes and moisturisers to double cleansing and including AHA'S and BHA'S all thanks to the wise words of Caroline Hirons of course, now before I go on any further with this post I'd like to point out as you are probably already aware given the recent confession of using wet wipes, I'm no skincare expert. I know enough from research about the ingredients and I'm clued up on a rough science of the products but not enough to fully explain so I will save that for the experts.
However, as someone who admittedly spends a lot of my time browsing through beauty blogs, more then what is probably healthy, and hours researching information online I feel I know enough to be able to share with you my opinions and views on these products and just how my own skin has reacted to them. Anyway! I could ramble on for ages on about my new found love for skincare just ask my fiancee or mum, so without further due here are a few of this years discoveries which have really made a difference to my skin.
2014 Skincare Favourites, Rodial, Bodyshop, Clinque
I've tried lots of new different brands and products this year ranging from luxury brands to high street ones some good some not so good, but these 5 have been the stand out products for me and the ones I can see genuinely making a difference to appearance of my skin.
To kick things off is Rodial, they have really stood out for me these past few months with their extraordinarily high quality goods that are packed to the brim of skin loving ingredients. The first of their products which I'm always reaching for is the *Rodial Glamtox Cleansing Balm (The one pictured is the travel size version), this wonder product is neutrally scented which is great for me as I hate fragrance In products as they often cause irritation. It reminds me of the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm it applies like a balm but once massaged onto the skin it emlusifys and transforms into a milky white toner.  It's extremely rich so I find it perfect to use to remove all of my makeup, it even removes the toughest of mascaras, it all just melts away. Once I've applied it and washed it all off my skin instantly feels nourished and moisturised and what is even better it doesn't leave a horrible residue which I find some richer cleansers tend to leave. Its also worth noting that it doesn't contain any mineral oil, shea butter or beeswax so is perfect for those avoiding those ingredients.

Now my next product is only a tiny travel size version like the cleanser, it's the *Rodial Stemcell Super-Food Facial Oiunfortunately I've now run out of this one *Cries* but whenever I used it before bed I would wake up and my skin would look significantly better, it felt nourished and plumped, the fine lines around my eyes (Probably from lack of hydration) would completely disappear. This light weight oil dissolves seamlessly into my skin and is packed full of rich antioxidants, which will help protect against daily free radicals and also contains Vitamins such as Vitamin A,B5,C and E. It also contains their latest innovation PhytoCellTech™  Alp Rose stem-cell technology which also works to protect and revitalise your skin. This product certainly packs a punch but so does the price tag, so I'd recommend trying a travel size or sample version before committing, however  since I've used It I've been hooked so I will definitely be buying the full size version.

Then onto a slightly more affordable oil which has blown up over the bloggersphere this year,  The Body Shops Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil, this has been my skin saviour all winter long, it even featured In my Autumn essentials post. When my skin is feeling extra dry and tight after battling the harsh winds and ever changing temperatures of winter I reach straight for this and it instantly repairs all my dry skin patches. I do find this oil can be slightly heavy and takes a couple of minutes to fully dissolve into my skin but once its in my skin looks hydrated and more radiant. Its a product I've been recommending to all my friends and family. I even purchased the whole range for my mum for christmas.

2014 Skincare Favourites Rodial Bodyshop Clinque
Finally a brand Im sure we have all seen or tried at some point In our lives, Clinque. Surprise surprise I was late to the hype again, I'm just not one to go for products that are overly hyped and ramped up I prefer to wait around and if the products are still being mentioned a few months or a year later then I'll finally try them, I just find this way reviews I read are a genuine and separates them from the over glamourised ones. Not that Im belittling anyones reviews as we are all different with different skin types but I have bought several expensive products and beauty gadgets over the years on reccomendations only to try them myself and find there not all they where cracked up to be. These two Clinque products where part of the hyped cult beauty products however I can assure you the reviews are true and they are worth it. The first product is the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel It was reformulated last year to include two more crucial ingredients, brilliant news for anybody suffering with dry skin, hydrochloric acid and glycerin these two ingredients help your skin hold onto water therefore you can say adios to dry flakey skin and hello to plumped up moisturised glowing skin. It leaves my skin incredibly soft almost velvety plus it also works well underneath your makeup.

Then last but no mans least, my most used product of 2014 Clinques Anti-Blemish Solutions Gel. Its a product I keep coming back to In the fight of battling my adult blemishes, my skin is extremely troublesome especially around you no what time of the month and I find this solution is great for clearing up the odd spot. As much as I do enjoy this product I wouldn't recommend using it as an all over treatment as the main ingredient is alcohol which is incredibly drying for your skin and I find for cystic acne it doesn't work as well as it contins a low percentage of Salicylic acid. I'd recommend a product (Which isn't photographed as I run out) such as Paula's choice Exfoliating 2% BHA Gel exfoliant for helping to completely clear your acne as it contains a higher percentage but isn't too drying so your able to use it over your entire face.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your 2014 Skincare Favourites?
