Brace your eyeballs and prepare to scroll, this post is full to the brim with photos.

Leeds castle has always been somewhere i've wanted to visit, I vaguely remember going as a child to watch the bird show but couldn't really remember what the castle looked like. So on Valentines day Joe and I decided to take a little day trip. The castle itself is just outside of Maidstone, which greatly baffled Joe and i on the way there - isn't Leeds castle in Leeds? We stupidly thought.

The castle itself is based on a huge plot of land, which is surrounded in woodland and covered in ponds and lakes. Lots of beautiful peacocks, swans and geese roam freely about the land, which are completely harmless and used to be around people (you can even by bird feed at the gate and get up close to them).

The entry free is £24 which I thought was a little pricey, however it does give you access to the castle and grounds for a year. If you live locally it's great as they're are lots of up and coming events happening there. Including a food festival in September which Joe and I will definitely be attending (who me obsessed with food? Never)

A highlight of mine was watching the bird show, a particular little owl named Mozart caught my eye with his stubborn refusal to fly on demand. Reminds me of my little dog Dre, constantly refusing to come when his called (shakes head).

Warning: Don't be fooled into thinking the maze is easy. This maze sees you coming a mile off, it lulls you into a false sense of security with its influx of children participants. Its all giggles and fun until you realize you've been going in circles for 10 minutes

Joe and I resorted to cheat tactics, I hoped on his back and looks for the exit sign. That plan worked for 5 minutes, we felt we made significant process until we noticed we where back to the same spot. Ultimately we got lost again and had to ask a group of children for the way out...
