All items: Beyond Retro
A few weeks ago the BR team managed to drag me out of my coursework coma for a day of vintage fun with some other retro blogging babes. We started off the day by fueling up at The Breakfast Club and can I just say oh my, you NEED to try the pancakes, I've been wanting to go for ages now and so thankful (well i am, my hips are not) that i finally managed to go.
Once we had had our fill of carb heavy American style pancakes and oddly paired healthy green smoothies we headed back to the Dalston Beyond Retro store for an afternoon of dress-up.  We all headed straight to the 70s section, after we where done rummaging their wasn't a tassel left in sight - it's safe to say from the picture below we all love a bit of fringing. What can we say! Double the tassels double the fun.

Textile Exhibiton thea porter 70s chic

After we successfully hunted down all the suede in the store we hoped in a cab courtesy of Addison Lee and headed straight towards Bermondsey for the Thea Porter 70s Bohemian Chic exhibition at the Fashion and Textiles Museum.

The exhibition itself houses some of Porter's beautifully crafted gowns which where painstakingly covered in intricate hand embellishments. Wouldn't it be nice if we could swan about in these fancy smocks everyday?

Unfortunately the exhibition is no longer on but i highly recommend paying the textiles museum a visit if your in the big city any time soon. How about going to see the 1900s Riviera resort and swimwear collection (no mankinis in sight) or Jane Butchart's Nautical Chic exhibition.
