L'Oreal Paris Color Riche La Palette Nude Eyeshadow Palette Rose & Beige

I'm sure most of you have already come across these palettes in some shape or form by now, as always I'm a little (almost 8 months) behind on trialing these babies. Before picking them up I heard lots of positive reviews, they where often compared to the Urban Decay Naked palettes and since L'Oreal also owns them its hard not to see the similarities in the colours choices right away.

The palettes retail for £14.99 each which yes can seem pricey considering their a 'drugstore' product however when compared to the Urban Decay palettes and comparing the prices per ounce the L'Oreal eye shadow's come in significantly cheaper.

If I'm honest this colour palette was the one I was least excited about the colours aren't the kind of colours i'd usually go for, forever a brown eyeshadow girl. But i have to say I was pleasantly surpised, the palette features 4 matte shades and 6 shimmers ranging from the lightest pink, through to dusty coppery shades and finishing at a deep plum colour.

I'm not usually a fan of shimmer shadows as I find they tend to appear washed out, especially most drug store shimmer shadows but I actually preferred the shimmers in this palette compared to the matte shades. The shadows themselves are quite buttery in texture and are easily blended, they do require a few applications to get the colour to build up, i also recommend applying them over a shadow base to ensure maximum colour pay off but once applied they are quite long wearing.

Now on to the beige palette, now alternatively this kit has 4 shimmer shades and 6 matte shades. The lighter shades take a lot to build up any colour on my skin shade as i'm already pretty pale however the darker colours where a lot more pigmented and only required two coats to reach their full colour.

Suprisingly I was less impressed with the palette as some of the colours just didn't work for me, however the colours that do work for my skin tone have been a great addition to my makeup routine. Both palettes can be applied dry or wet.

Overall i think both palettes are great for the prices, the packaging is small and durable so its great for on the go touch ups, also there is 3 for 2 on a lot of beauty goods in Boots at the moment so grab them while they are hot.
