The Body Shop Oils Of Life

The Body Shop is all grown up

Notice anything different? The Body Shop is having a little bit of a re brand. Now we all know and love them for their body butters, amazing vitmain e range and their bloggers beauty favourites such as the 'Honey Bronzer' but they're now looking to up their skin care game, they'll still incorporate quality natural ingredients but the packaging has a fancy new posh 'do.

The Body Shop has unveiled it's new Oils of Life line which has been designed especially for more mature skin, granted you may be wondering why on earth I'm reviewing it then? Well to be honest when it comes to The body Shop I want to try them all! And besides, these products are designed to revitalize the skin and who doesn't want a piece of that pie.

Oils of Life focus on 3 main ingredients; Black cumin which is brimming with anti-oxidants, Camellia seeds which are naturally rich in oleic acids and Rose-hip oil which hold Omega 3 and 6 oil properties. Each ingredient was selected as they are known for their preserving properties, ideal for skin in need of a boost.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil

*Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil

The first product is the Intensely Revitalizing Facial oil which will be priced at £28 for 30ml, a steep price for a The Body Shop and one to revival luxury beauty prices. So what are we getting for this extra money besides fancy packaging? Well this light-weight oil promises to be 99% natural and the remanding 1% consists of essential materials to support the formula, it also promises to reduce the signs of aging in as little as 4 weeks.

Now I can't confirm or deny the latter claim as but I can tell you just how luxurious this oil feels, it soaks into my dehydrated but acne prone skin fully in about 5 minutes and once it absorbs your left feeling silky smooth - almost as if you've applied a primer, so it's ideal for using both morning and night. After applying and leaving it to absorb completely my skin certainly looks a lot more hydrated and any dry patches that I had were quickly dissolved away, including a dry patch at the tip of my nose which was the result of a bit too much sun exposure. I have fine lines on my forehead and although they are still present they have slightly faded and look less noticeable.

A great tip I've learned for this oil is it's great for mixing with your foundation when you want a lighter base.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalizing Cream & Gel

*Intensely Revitalizing Cream & Gel Cream

Next are the Intensely Revitalizing Cream & Gel Cream, both products are £25 for 50ml of product and hold the same ingredients of Cumin, Rose-hip and Camellia Oil bar a few added extras for the cream, yet have different 4 week end results the only thing noticeably different are the textures as the gel is a lot lighter. Each cream is also infused with perfecting mirco-pearls which are introduced to leave a illuminating glow to your skin.

The cream formula is a lot more intense than the gel and is ideal for dry and dehydrated skin, it's heavier but doesn't leave any horrible sticky residue and doesn't take long to soak in fully. I found that using this does keep my skin hydrated and leaves a nice subtle glow. The 4 week end result of this cream claims like the oil to reduce the signs of aging and minimize wrinkles.

The gel formula is light in texture and cools the skin as you apply it, it soaks in almost immediately. My skin didn't feel as hydrated when I used this formula but perhaps that is because my skin is dry and it would be suited better to those with greasy or combination skin. The 4 week result for this cream promises to re-plump, smooth and revive your skins radiance.

Both creams can be applied both morning and night; in my opinion I prefer the heavier texture of the cream formula as it feels a lot more luxurious than the gel. All the products have a slight peppery scent due to the natural ingredients namely from the Cumin, but it's not too over powering and hasn't caused any irritation to my sensitive skin which usually flares up with fragrant skincare.
