Why hello there! So today's post is a little bit different,  last week I was invited down to Koko In Camden to watch a gig with Years and Years (I know right, I bloomin' love 'em) and for an early Christmas treat I got my mum to tag along, she's a bigger fan than I am and has proudly sported them as her alarm clock for the past year... bless.

The venue was a stones throw away from Mornington Crescent, so mumma owl and I tubed it in, the venue was so ornate with huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and quite small so it felt really intimate, the gig was sponsored by HP Lounge and the new Star wars film, so when we arrived at the venue we were immediately greeted by Starwars characters, naturally I grabbed a quick picture moment - I'd share the image but my poses are cheesier than brie, no seriously there's a peace sign and everything.

Before the gig we were shown some bits from HP's range, most notably the new Star WarsSpecial Edition notebook which for all you techy/Star Warsfans (here's looking at you dad) is a limited edition laptop to celebrate the release of Stars Wars 7 (out 17th December). The laptop is purposely distressed to look as though it's traveled through space and comes packed with lots of Star Wars hidden goodies, including the Aurebesh font (oh god my inner nerd is on show knowing what that is).

We also got to play around with the new HP Lounge feature which is free for the first 12 months on any new HP laptop. HP Lounge is a ad-free web radio streaming service which allows you to listen to music by various artists from Universals Music catalogue, as well as music it also provides behind-the-scenes footage and various opportunity's to win special prices such as meet-and-greets and VIP packages to shows. So if you've got an HP it's well worth a download. After a quick walk through we got the chance to play with HP's BB8 game, which involved a small robot and a smartpad, which I was slightly extremely rubbish at, but at least my mum enjoyed watching me struggle.

Once everyone poured in and the lights got low the gig got going, the warm up act Clean Cut Kid, a quartet from Liverpool were soooooooo good, so good that I immediately went home and downloaded all their music. Whilst I'm writing this i'm actually listening to their 'Vitamin C' track - if you like indie pop with a folky soul melody then you'll love them too. Next it was the main event Years and Years and I'm pleased to say they sound even better live, Olly (or as my mum calls him, cutie *cringe*) was full of beans and throwing some sassy shapes all over the stage, which was met with roars from his dedicated crowd, especally when they sang a cover of Britney Spear's Toxic. My favourite song was 'Eyes Shut', he hopped on the keyboard and sang his heart out and embarrassingly so did i, laaaaavvvved it.

This post was written in collaboration with HP but as always the words and love of Olly Alexander are entirely my own. #HP Lounge is unlimited access to Universal Music’s portfolio for 12 months, free to HP customers. Internet access is required.
